Home Learning during school closure

This section of your child’s class page has been set up to support your child with activities to continue their learning during the school closure.

There will be activities in each section under the headings: Practise, Explore, Apply, Challenge. The children are used to these words during PLT.

Along with the school based work, we have included a list of Fun activities for home.

Week Commencing 29.6.2020

Please find below the PLT menu and resources for this week.

Note... we will not be carrying out the exact menu at school and I will add any additional resources as we go through the week so keep an eye out!

Week Commencing 22.6.2020

We have had a slightly different week this week.

Mrs Wood held a space day as a natural follow on from assembly.

I will attach the documents in case you would like to do the same from home.

I have also planned a self esteem day and will also attach all relevant documents in case you would like to do this at home as well.

We are also starting our new Pirates topic.

In class we will complete a DT project to design, create and evaluate a pirate puppet.

Please find the booklet I have created below if you wish to do this at home.

Early morning starters

As part of our topic learning we have researched pirate flags together on the computer.  We learnt that there were specific things that kept reappearing on the flags so we looked at what they would symobolise.

After this we designed our own flag and then wrote on a scroll about why we had included certain things.

For example;

'On my flag I included a cutlass to show that pirates were fierce and dangerous'

Reading

Are you running out of books now that the libraries are closed and you are staying at home? Why not check out the Literacy Trust's Family Zone for resources, ideas and apps to help support reading.  https://literacytrust.org.uk/family-zone

Jigsaw is a complete set of lesson plans, one for each week, that covers personal development, social skills and health education for children and young people aged 3-16. The aim is to equip children to understand who they are, to be healthy and happy and good, caring people. There is a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing and mental health.
