• Our very first ‘book blether’

  We finished off our Book Day celebrations with a 'book blether' session. The children were put into small mixed-aged groups from across the school and then given the opportunity to enjoy and share a book with their group. 

  It has been lovely to observe and hear the children being so engaged with our World Book Day celebrations over the last couple of days There has certainly been a positive buzz around reading in the whole school.

  We were really impressed with the quality of the book boxes that were made at home and brought in to share. Thank you for your support with these. 

  

• Celebrating World Book Day

  We have had a fantastic couple of days celebrating World Book Day by exploring the beautiful picture book 'Leaf' by Sandra Dieckmann.

  The children took part in a range of different creative activities, based around the book, which then culminated in a special assembly to celebrate all the wonderful work the children did. There has been cave building, making crowns, drama sessions, poems and diaries written, beautiful artwork created and lots of lovely book talk.
